“Re-Imagined” – A Challenge with a Difference

Mixed-media, fibre art challenge and exhibition

Finally. A mixed-media, fibre art challenge and exhibition exclusively for artists in the Southern Hemisphere.

With a difference.

It is virtual.

This challenge is open to any fibre artist – not just rug makers – although you do need to include at least one of the many rug making techniques (see the “Call for Entries” form) and include the required embellishments.

Jo Franco (WA) and I have pulled together a new kind of fibre challenge  open to individual artists and collaborative projects to encourage the use of fibre, textile, recycled items and embellishments.

We have tried to give you free rein with few restrictions on what you can do.

No entry fee.

No size limit.

No costly shipping of exhibit pieces.

All works reviewed by a international team of professional fibre / textile artists (3 from USA; 2 from Canada) .

All works part of a Virtual Exhibition (first time ever!)

Fibre artists and rugmakers in Australia, New Zealand and across the South Pacific are using fibre and combinations of textile techniques that have pushed the boundaries of a traditional craft – into art.

We have seen what many of you are doing and are amazed by not only your fibre work but also how you are able to re-imagine the ways materials can be used.

Now it’s time to share your ideas and imagination with others.

Your first task is to simply let us know that you might be interested in taking up the challenge by completing the short “Entry form/Expression of Interest” (link below) and  participate in “Re-imagined” – A fibre art challenge with a Difference.

Details about the Challenge can be found here:
