Kraft Kolour Dyes (Vic)

Kraft Kolour is in Thomastown, Victoria and offer a huge range of dye products, fibres and equipment.  I used a particular type of dye called “Landscape” which claims to try to replicate some of the colours of the Australian landscape. I’m also led to believe they are slightly less toxic than some other dyes  (I won’t swear to this!). They also have materials for natural dyes and the appropriate mordent to use with them.  Plus a wide range of fibres and the list goes on. Find Kraft Kolour at:

  1. Hi
I am an art educator and run school holiday workshops for children in vacation care. The numbers for each class vary from 30 to 50 and I am always looking for new and old craft ideas on a budget. I would very much like them to do some rug hooking and rag rug making but sadly the webbing appears to be scarce on the ground and very expensive. Can you tell me what is the wholesale price per metre you supply this product to NSW.

    1. G’day Donna!
I don’t supply fabric for this craft but there are a few people in OZ who do…just look under the tab for suppliers….but…that being said…the cheapest backing for new hookers is to simply use hessian (available from most craft/fabric shops). Many of our hookers continue to use this (buy the best quality you can) and you can get your students going. Hope that helps!
